2015A General Revenue Bonds

Sold in March 2015, the inaugural standalone bond sale for the university was primarily used to fund the renovation of and addition to Erb Memorial Union (EMU). The EMU is the center for student activities and involvement. It brings together opportunities for all students to experience community, meet up with friends, attend a lecture series, enjoy a cup of coffee, or just hang out and study.

2016A General Revenue Bonds

Sold in May 2016, proceeds were primarily used to fund the construction of Kalapuya Ilihi residence hall. The hall opened in fall 2017 to approximately 500 students, houses four new academic communities and honors one of Oregon’s indigenous peoples. The building’s name recognizes that the Kalapuya, part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, were the first residents of the Willamette Valley.

2018A General Revenue Bonds

Sold in January 2018, proceeds were primarily used to fund the renovation of Justice Bean residence hall. Originally built in 1960-63, Justice Bean Hall and all of its systems were dramatically refreshed, inside and out. The hall is comprised of 716 beds and also has two community kitchens and space dedicated to tutoring sessions, academic advising and office hours for faculty fellows.

2020AB General Revenue Bonds

Sold in March 2020, on the precipice of the pandemic, proceeds were primarily used to fund the construction of DeNorval Unthank Jr. residence hall. Named in honor of the first Black graduate of the University of Oregon architecture program, Unthank Hall features living space and amenities for nearly 700 students. The building includes a welcome center for prospective students and the PNW Public Market, hosting nine unique dining venues.

2021AB General Revenue Bonds

Sold in September 2021, proceeds were primarily used to fund the construction of a new residence hall complex. The complex features a combined 301,250 square feet of living space, and will be home to up to 1,300 Ducks. And they’re not just for first-year students but for upper-division students as well. Resident floors pinwheel around a central community lounge, which offers study space, areas to hang with friends, and views across campus.
