Due to changes in federal tax laws, using your federal W-4 allowances for Oregon withholding calculations may no longer result in the correct amount of withholding for Oregon personal income taxes. You might not be withholding enough to cover your Oregon tax liability, which could result in you owing money when you file your taxes.
To check your withholding, use the Oregon Withholding Worksheet that is provided by Oregon's Department of Revenue. The worksheet will help you calculate what you need to withhold for Oregon taxes for 2018. It also includes instructions on how to file a separate Oregon-only version of your federal Form W-4 if you need to change your withholding.
