Property Control
The mission of Property Control is to ensure University of Oregon equipment is managed in line with federal and state regulations. Worth approximately $160 million in over 100 departments, our nearly 7,000 capital assets are located throughout the State of Oregon, around the world, and even at the bottom of the ocean. Having an accurate record of these assets provides information for financial reporting, and protection in the case of damage, theft, or audit.
What we do:
• Monitor acquisitions and tag new capital assets
• Supervise biennial inventories of capital assets
• Monitor and track leased and loaned property on campus
• Authorize equipment disposals; Administer the Surplus Exchange and E-waste program
• Maintain the Banner fixed asset database, depreciate capital assets, and provide financial reporting
