Surplus Equipment Exchange
This website is for UO staff and faculty to exchange surplus UO equipment across campus to other departments. You may post offerings of equipment no longer used, or you may post a “wanted” ad for items you’d like to try sourcing second-hand. To create listings, you must login with your Duck ID. To acquire an item, contact the person associated with that listing.
Rules
- Departments are required to post all working surplus property, e-waste, and furniture in good condition here for one week before sale or disposal.
- Posting personal property, or claiming UO equipment for personal use is strictly prohibited.
- Data containing devices such as computer hard drives must be cleansed prior to transfer. Please refer to Information Services’ article on Storage Sanitization for more information.
- Departments need to securely store the property for the period of time before pickup. Do not place items in hallways, fire escapes, stairwells, or loading docks.
- You may add a purchase price on your listing; contact Property Control if you need assistance recording a purchase on a JV in Banner.
- Capital assets (items with yellow/green inventory stickers) must have their new departments and locations reported to Property Control; this information will be updated in Banner and the asset will be added to your department’s next inventory cycle.
- Do not post broken items or IT equipment that no longer runs a supported operating system. These items, and unclaimed electronics, can be submitted for a free e-waste pickup by submitting a Property Disposition Request.
- For unclaimed furniture, please complete a work order to Facility Services for pickup, or schedule a drop-off time with UO Surplus Furniture.
- Please delete posts after your item has been transferred. Posts will automatically be deleted after 60 days.
- For more information on equipment disposal, please visit the disposal page or contact us at propertycontrol@uoregon.edu
